This week we'll have a new song during the response time at the conclusion of our message. The song is called "Come As You Are" and it was written by David Crowder. The words of the chorus are a tremendous description:
So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You're not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
What a wonderful truth to know that when God takes our burdens, he takes them from the weary traveler, who is left in a mess largely by their own doing and frailty. Just as the prodigal son returned home to be greeted by His father, we are greeted with joy and celebration by our heavenly Father.
